About Alzheimer's Services
About Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, Inc. (ASCCI)
In 1981 a group of family caregivers and healthcare professionals came together for the purpose of sharing insights, ideas and information and providing support that eventually would help other families in our community better cope with the effects of this debilitating and devastating disease.
From that alliance, Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, Inc. was formed as an independent, community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit agency in 1984. In 1987 we became the Cape Cod Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. In order to better focus on and support the growing needs in our region we returned to independent status in July 2002. We are dedicated to support and education, information and referrals to local services, family support, and respite grants for family caregivers.
Our efforts are focused on helping people in the greater Cape Cod region who are impacted with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, their families and caregivers. Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, Inc. has served the people of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket since 1984.
